Hit and Run, Vehicle Code section 20002(a) - Not Guilty by Jury Trial

My client was involved in a minor traffic collision in San Diego. He stopped
and exited his car. The other driver was angry and approached in an aggressive
manner. My client, fearing for his safety, fled. He did not report the
matter to the police since he did not have any details from the other
driver. My client was arrested and charged with "Hit and Run"
as a misdemeanor. Despite a legitimate self-defense explanation, the District
Attorney refused to dismiss the case. We went to trial at the Chula Vista
Courthouse. The jury heard the evidence.
Verdict - Not Guilty.
Moral of the case, sometimes the government (i.e. the prosecution) is
unreasonable, a jury of our peers is our only path to justice.
