A client that I represented at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice
Center was accused of Felony Vandalism, a violation of Penal Code section
594(a). The crime is what is known as a "wobbler", that is,
it can be charged as a felony or a misdemeanor. I represented him at the
preliminary hearing. I persuaded the judge to reduce the charge to a misdemeanor.
At the next court date, I filed a Motion to Dismiss per Penal Code section
1377, the judge granted the motion and the case was permanently stayed
(i.e. Dismissed). Another great result for a client, always happy to be
of service to the community.
